About Me

Hi. I’m Terri Jones. I was born in Tokyo, Japan but currently reside in TN. I write fiction and creative non-fiction in the form of screenplays (shorts and feature specs), short stories, poems and novellas/novels. I have a B.A. in Film and Television Production with a minor in Philosophy. I’m TEFL certified (meaning I’m certified to teach English as a foreign language.)

I’d love to do some residencies at artist/writer colonies and screenwriting fellowships.

I’m unrepped at the moment.

Currently, I’m focusing on writing feature and short spec screenplays . My genres are thrillers, horrors and comedies. My thrillers tend to be psychological and/or drama-thrillers. And my horrors tend to be classic supernatural horrors and sci-fi horrors. No hand holding, no cheap jumpscares. I’m inspired by films like Carnival of Souls, Rosemary’s Baby, Repulsion, M, Night Tide, Lisa and the Devil, etc. Those are the types of stories I write.

Some of my hobbies (besides writing) include: listening to talk radio and podcasts, gardening, reading, collecting books, crocheting, cooking, playing with my cat, traveling, researching/learning, listening to music… and sleeping. I sound like an old lady… but I’m 29 at the time of writing this.
